Atlas cabinets are sold through dealer networks with model numbers that follow a three-part code: series, box construction, and finish. The series letter (A through D) tells you the hinge bore pattern and the drawer box depth. A-series and B-series use a 35mm cup with 5mm offset, while C-series and D-series moved to a full-overlay soft-close hinge with a different bore spacing. If you’re holding a loose hinge, measure the cup diameter and the distance from the cup edge to the cabinet face. That number determines whether an aftermarket Blum or Salice equivalent will fit without re-boring the door.

We carry OEM Atlas hardware for A and B series, plus soft-close retrofit kits that fit C and D series without modification. For drawer glides, Atlas used Accuride 3832 undermounts in pre-2018 production; after 2018, they switched to a proprietary side-mount with integrated soft-close. The polymer version fails around year 8; the metal version lasts longer but squeaks once the coating goes.

The drivers run hot in enclosed soffits, and the electrolytic capacitors dry out. The symptom is flickering that stabilizes when the cabinet is cool, then worsens during cooking.

What goes wrong: re-boring a stripped door without a 35mm Forstner bit and a drill guide, which leaves the hinge cup off-center and the door binding. Worse, driving a longer screw through a particleboard door into nothing, creating a blowout that’s visible from the kitchen table.
