The first two digits indicate the series: 19-20 for first-gen, 21-22 for the revised plumbing cluster, 23 and later for the current membrane system.

We source OEM Boxabl gaskets and pans through their parts channel, but we’ve also vetted aftermarket equivalents from Kohler and Toto that meet the same IPX4 splash rating and fit the carrier spacing without modification. We pull the vanity, map the moisture with a pinless meter, and replace the affected subfloor section before resetting the fixture.
• Musty odor that returns after cleaning. The wet-bath membrane in early Boxabl units was a PVC sheet bonded at the seams with solvent weld. Heat cycling in Redwood City’s south-facing units weakens that bond over 3-5 years, letting water migrate behind the wall panel. The smell is mold on the OSB backing, not surface grime.
• Wall-hung toilet rocking or pulling from the carrier. The Geberit carriers in first-gen units are rated for 500 pounds static load, but the Boxabl’s steel frame transfers vibration differently than a stick-framed wall.
