If your driveway was sold under the American Standard name, the actual paver series is typically Belgard’s Cambridge Cobble, Dublin Cobble, or Techo-Bloc’s Blu 80 or Villagio lines. The model identifier matters because the locking edge profile differs: Cambridge Cobble uses a chamfered bevel that interlocks on a 45-degree shear plane, while Blu 80 relies on a vertical shiplap edge that needs a different bedding sand gradation to set properly.

To identify what you have, check the retaining edge along your driveway’s perimeter. American Standard-branded installations from 2015-2021 usually include a small stamped logo on the spacer nub of every fifth paver, visible only if you lift one from the edge row. If your driveway was installed before 2015, it may carry the older Pavestone partnership markings instead. We carry both OEM-compatible replacements and direct Belgard and Techo-Bloc equivalents. The aftermarket equivalents match the compressive strength spec, 8,000 psi minimum for vehicular loads, but we always verify the color batch code because American Standard’s “Slate Grey” is a custom tint that standard Belgard stock does not always match.

Signs Your American Standard Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

• Pavers rocking or tilting under tire load. This usually means the bedding sand layer has washed out or the base compacted improperly. What you can safely check yourself: lift one edge paver and look at the base layer. If you see clean, angular crushed stone with no mud intrusion, the base is probably sound. Check the slope with a 4-foot level; water should run toward the street or a drain, never toward your foundation.

Where DIY goes wrong: paver driveway repair looks simple but fails quickly if the bedding sand gradation is wrong, the compaction lift thickness exceeds 6 inches, or the edge restraint is not mechanically anchored.
